Light and Bright™ is an exciting treatment that both rejuvenates and resurfaces skin to improve redness, dark spots, textural irregularities, and spider veins.
The Nordlys Light & Bright™ treatment uses a combination of intense pulsed light (IPL) and a non-ablative fractional laser to improve redness and dark spots, resurface your skin, and stimulate your body’s own natural collagen production for bright, glowing skin. The treatment is backed by clinical studies.
The Light & Bright™ treatment is a series of treatments, typically done over 3 treatment sessions. It consists of fractional non-ablative treatments (Frax 1550™ and/or Frax 1940™) along with narrowband IPL treatment on the Nordlys system.

The Light & Bright treatment on the Nordlys system can reduce reds, tame browns, and smooth skin all in a single session.
The unique Light & Bright treatment protocol is a clinically proven, combination treatment using applicators available only on the Nordlys multi-application platform.
The treatment uses narrowband, dual filter Selective Waveband Technology (SWT®) IPL (intense pulsed light) and 1550 nm and/or 1940 nm fractional non-ablative lasers for treatment of benign pigmented and vascular lesions, as well as textural irregularities.
The Light & Bright treatment is a series of 3 treatments that leaves skin looking and feeling more smooth, clear and refreshed. This is a great choice for benign pigmented lesions, diffuse redness, telangiectasias and/or mild-to-moderate textural irregularities on the face or chest.
Patient pre-treatment and post-treatment care
Pre-treatment
One month prior
- Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds and self-tanners
- Wear sunscreen, SPF 30+
- Consider using a moisturizing lotion daily
One week before
- Avoid the use of photosensitizing medications, and medications such as Retina A or Glycolic Acid
- For those with a history of Herpes Simplex virus infection, consider taking a prescribed
antiviral medication
Day of treatment
- Inform your physician if you have changed medications or have had recent sun exposure.
- For the treatment of blood vessels:
– Avoid smoking cigarettes for at least 4-8 hours before treatment, as this may constrict the vessels and make treatment less successful
Post treatment
Immediately post treatment
• Apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) to all areas treated and avoid sun exposure (even in the car!), and apply sunscreen while awake every 90 minutes
Same day of treatment
- STAY HYDRATED, AVOID ALCOHOL!
- Avoid saunas, strenuous exercise, and any activity that may cause excessive heat to the treatment area for 24 hours
- A feeling of itchiness may be noticed, which is normal (we offer a special cream if needed)
- Do not scrub or scratch the treated areas
- Apply a moisturizer to the treated area. For the area treated with the Frax 1550 and/or Frax 1940
- consider a heavier moisturizer such as Aquaphor (we provide a moisturizer post-treatment that lasts approximately 1 week)
- Do not apply products that may cause your skin to react negatively. Do not use peels or aggressive cleansers for 1-2 weeks or until complete healing
- If possible, avoid using makeup (other than
sunscreen and moisturizer) for 24 hours after treatment.
Note: Treated pigment may become darker following the treatment, this is a desired effect and may be covered by make-up
- Inform your provider immediately if there is continued or severe discomfort or any sign of blistering. This is very uncommon, but requires attention.
Benign pigmented lesion treatments
- Redness and swelling are expected post treatment
- MENDs are common post treatment and should resolve in 7-14 days. Avoid scratching or picking and keep the treatment area moisturized until complete healing. The clinical meaning of MENDs is “microscopic epidermal necrotic debris,” which essentially means small pieces of dead skin tissue
